The Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council (Council) will meet Monday, October 24 through Thursday, October 27, 2022, at Beau Rivage Resort and Casino in Biloxi, Mississippi. Virtual participation will also be available by webinar. The meeting will begin with a review and adoption of the Council Committee Assignments for October 2022 through August 2023. On Monday, October 24th immediately after lunch, NOAA Fisheries Assistant Administrator Janet Coit will be providing some remarks to the Council and stakeholders on agency priorities.
The public will have two opportunities to participate during the meeting and in-person and virtual participants will have equal opportunity to participate in both sessions:
- A Question and Answer Session will be held with leadership staff from NOAA Fisheries and the Council on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, immediately following Reef Fish Committee. This session will be hosted on a separate webinar. The link to register for the Question and Answer Session webinar will be available on the meeting material webpagesoon.
- Public testimony will be held from 1:30- 5:00 PM CDT on Wednesday, October 26, 2022. Sign up to provide comment in-person at the kiosk located near the meeting room entrance. To provide virtual public testimony, you must register online and join the webinar. A registration link to provide testimony will be available on the Council meeting materials webpage beginning at 8:00 AM, CDT on Wednesday, October 26, 2022. Registration to provide virtual testimony will close one hour before public testimony begins (12:30 PM CDT). Virtual participants must register for the webinar under the same name they use to register to provide testimony.
