On March 28, from 8:30 am – 4:30 pm in Cameron and Hackberry, NOAA gear specialists will be available to measure and approve TEDs to be sure they are properly installed — NO enforcement actions will be taken during these courtesy checks.
Dockside demonstrations will take place first, at 8:30 am, at the ‘Ferry Landing’ seafood dock (358 Marshall St.) in Cameron; including:
- Dale Stevens & Cahn Nguyen, NOAA Fisheries – TED regulations
- Jeff Marx, LDWF – review upcoming changes to inside/outside shrimp line
- LFF Seafood Quality Training Lab – cold chain management demonstration
Contact Kevin Savoie, Louisiana Sea Grant, (337) 660-8519 or [email protected], to arrange a time for your TEDs check, or schedule in the morning at the dock. At the check, have your nets hanging so that the TEDs are a few feet above the deck. The whole process takes only a few minutes per net.
